What does the industry sell? The industry sells electronic cigarette vapes, usually containing nicotine, the same addictive chemical found in normal cigarettes.

How does the industry want the public to view its products? Juul and other companies present their vapes as a healthy alternative to smoking cigarettes, hiding their true harmful nature. They often use social media influencers to promote their products and increase their popularity among teenagers.

How do these products affect users' health? Nicotine has both short and long term effects on the health of its users. It can cause an increase in blood pressure almost immediately. Nicotine and tobacco have also been linked to cancer, and smoking can rot out your teeth. Though studies haven't definitively proven that vaping does the same, it's safe to assume that something made of the same chemicals we KNOW to cause cancer is probably not safe for consumption.
