Napoleon ended Sunday meetings because he thought that they were unnecessary and wastage of time.

    Explanation:

In Chapter 5, of the novel "Animal Farm" by George Orwell, Napoleon delivered the speech stating that there will be no more Sunday meetings. The reason that he gave was that Sunday meetings were "unnecessary and wasted time".

But Napoleon ended this Sunday meetings because he thought that it will be a threat to his power. He formed a committee of pigs who will take further decisions but in private.

"The animals would still assemble on Sunday mornings to salute the flag, sing Beasts of England, and receive their orders for the week; but there would be no more debates." (Quoted Text from "Animal Farm")

His statement that there will be no more debates signifies that he was afraid of being overthrown if Sunday meetings would be held and debates occur.
