The adventure novel has enjoyed considerable success of the mid-nineteenth century to the beginning of our century. It has been shown through most Western countries, such significant authors as Robert Louis Stevenson, Joseph Conrad, Jack London, Karl May, Emilio Salgari and Jules Verne.
