It is true that pronoun is a noun substitute because it takes the place of the noun in the sentence. A pronoun may serve as a subject, a direct or even an indirect object, and can also be the object of a preposition. It can basically do almost all that nouns can do. In speeches, pronouns are used in order not to repeat nouns. Some of the pronouns include he, she, it, they, we, you and a lot more. There are different types of pronouns depending on their purpose.
