    True. Poverty can be caused by rapid population growth because people will be competing for resources especially important resources like food. Rapid population growth will eventually result to overpopulation which means there will be a rapid increase in demand however supply may increase but not that much. Thus, shortage will eventually happen which leads to poverty.
