    Answer: We choose to answer by selecting, Valmiki's, "Ramayana" and "Like the Sun" by R. K. Ramayan. The former is from India's glorious past. It is said to be the golden age of India. The other is also a distinguished part.

    Explanation: As far as Valmiki is concerned, Ramayana was composed at the Prime of Indian Golden Age. Women then were held in very high esteem. They were addressed as,'Mata" or "Ma" described as universal mother. Civilization was at its peak in contemporary history. They got their due respect in every layers of the society. Whereas, at the time of R. K. Narayan it was the time when, India become quite modern with modern education and beliefs along with tradition.
