In The Adventures of Huckleberry Fin, why did Huck feel guilty about running away with Jim?

    He grew up in a racist home and was taught that slavery was socially acceptable, but he became friends with Jim and liked him even though he was a slave so he was torn on what to do.

    He felt bad that he was, in a way, stealing Jim away from his owner and he wasn't sure whether or not that was morally right
