Which of the following best describes how epic poetry can emerge from oral tradition?

    Although the first choice could be correct (poets like Homer were illiterate and others wrote them down), it seems too blunt. So I would choose the second one. An example of an epic poem that was created from tradition like this would be The Odyssey.
