Is there any strategic reason for Macbeth to kill Macduff's family or has he abandoned reason and judgment?

A - It makes perfect sense because it will break Macduff and keep him from causing Macbeth problems

B - He feels it fulfill more of the witch's prophecies.

C - Macbeth has gone off the deep end when he wages war on women and children because he is mad at a man
