Select all of the reasons why the underlined sentence in the following paragraph is a good example of a topic sentence. I really can't stand the food in my school's cafeteria. By about the middle of the year, I get so bored with the meals that are offered because we have the same meals over and over. And it's not like they are good meals! Would you want to eat chicken made in three different ways every week? I've resorted to bringing my own meals to school, just to keep my sanity.

1) The topic sentence is the first sentence of the paragraph.

2) The topic sentence of the paragraph directly states the main idea.

3) The topic sentence includes many ideas.

I would say the answer is 2) The topic sentence of the paragraph directly states the main idea. When the reader reads that, they know what they will be reading about. It gives then a good idea.~Silver
