The central idea of the paragraph is most clearly: hierarchical thinking is rarely accurate. The paragraph states that one’s opinion about subordinates changes as soon as they go higher on hierarchical ladder which is wrong as our position in hierarchy doesn’t always define our work and effort and surely it doesn’t define us as a person.
