A certain speaker may have a different tone than others, so the telling of the incident will be more characterized. The same goes for audiences. Some audiences may be interested in different things compared to other audiences. The format of the story is extremely important, and also varies depending on the audience. You wouldn't use the same format for little kids as you would for older adults.
