    American exceptionalism is said to be based on the republican ideals and not on common heritage.

    Exceptionalism means that it is a belief or it is a perception that the species, country, a particular country, institution, a movement or maybe a particular individual are exceptional, they are unusual. They are different from the other countries in the world.

    The United States of America is said to be exceptional and it is said that it's exceptional is said to be exceptional because it is based on founded on the republican ideals and is not set on common heritage.
