    A strong emotional reaction

    Explanation:

Denotation is literal. Straightforward, no interpreting needed, (personally my favorite). Connotation is not as straightforward. It requires much more thought to find the right answer. The Denotation of Storm is sudden precipitation or a strong burst of rain and thunder. The Connotation is a sudden outburst of negative emotions.
