Her dreams and goals represented those of other Jewish children that they were never given the chance to fulfill.

    Explanation:

When Anne Frank is referred to as "a symbol for the lost promise of the children who died in the Holocaust" it means that she represents all of the other kids who had to go through the suffering and pain during this tragic time and all the kids who never had a chance to fulfill their dreams and live life to the fullest. As stated inside the text, "Anne Frank was one of over one million Jewish children who died in the Holocaust ... Anne Frank has become a symbol for the lost promise of the children who died in the Holocaust." (Paragraphs 1 & 8). Anne Frank was not the only Jewish child that didn't make it through the holocaust, instead, there were millions. Each one of these children never got to live the life that they were promised, lost promise. Anne recorded all of her dreams and goals inside her diary which were similar to those of the other children and just like Anne they were never able to accomplish them.

Anne Frank is seen as the symbol because she had recorded her dreams in her diary which she never got to fulfill. This represented the dreams of the other children also which never got fulfilled.

    Explanation:

In the lesson, "Lost promises" means the desires and the ambitions of the children which never got fulfilled and they could never live their dreams. They were murdered before they had a chance to fulfill their destinies.

Anne Frank is seen as the symbol of all those children because her dreams and her ambitions were seen recorded in her diary in the lesson which also represented the dreams and ambitions of the other children of the generation of Jewish children.
