What is the tone of the following lines in "At the Tourist Centre of Boston"?

I seem to remember people, atleast in the cities, also slush, machines and assorted garbage. Perhaps that was my private mirage which will just evaporate when I go back.

-embarrassed

-ironic

-solemn

-accusing

The best answer for this question would be:

    solemn

The tone is solemn because the speaker speaks so casually in the first parts, then it slowly switches to a serious mood in which he is deep in thoughts at the moment.
