To identify the article's main idea

In an article the main idea is often stated multiple times. It is not usually stated with the exact same words, however. A reader must look closely and pay attention in order to identify where the idea has been restated. The subheadings are not often restated and are only used to back up the main idea. This is also true of the article's key support.

Explanation: An author restates when an idea is very important, the thesis statement normally, and it is likely restated in the conclusion as well.
