    Explanation:

    The novel 'The Color Purple' by 'Alice Walker' shows a patriarchal community where men dominate women. They are oppressive and violent. So, women of the women of the society are scared of them and feel inferior and worthless.

    The main character of the story "Celie" is initially abused by her stepfather and then later by her husband after her marriage. She has a unsuccessful marriage where she is treated like a slave and not loved. She is only supposed to take care of her children and obey her husband.

    The male not only influence the desires of the women but also their speech.

    Towards the end, Celie leave her husband, then he realizes how Celie had dedicated her life only on her family and how much he and his son relied on her in their life.
