The weather was cold and rainy when I drove Sid to the airport. The weather was cold and rainy driving to the airport. The sentence is correct as written.

    The way the original sentence is written, it would seem that the weather was driving Sid to the airport, which is obviously incorrect because of the wrong word order in the sentence.

    The only option which corrects this mistake is The weather was cold and rainy when I drove Sid to the airport. You have to introduce the subject of the sentence which does the action of driving.
