Jem and scout view their neighbor Boo as a bad person, that terrifies people. The were sore afraid of him on one of the occasions he saved them from an attacker who cold have hurt them and even killed him.

It was summer holiday where Boo was also present, he presented them gift which include two soap dolls, a broken watch and chain, a knife as every other person also give gifts and their lives too because he saved them. They had a new perspective about him and realize all that was said about him was rumor and that he was a lonely person who has no friend.
