    It is an ethical theory and also a form of consequentialism. It holds an idea in which the greatest good is for the greatest number and that is the most ethical choice that can be produced by those goods. It is often used in business because it is including the benefits and costs of goods.

    It has one limitation and that is the future which we cannot predict so we cannot know if or action will be successfully accomplished.

    The one who wrote about utilitarianism is Bentham and he says ''The greatest good for the greatest number".
