The term restaurant originated from one of a Parisian soup vendor named Boulanger. It was during 1765 when Boulanger placed a signage outside his shop with the words, "Venite ad me vos qui stomacho laboratis et ego restaurabo vos", which means "Come to me, all who labour in the stomach and I will restore you."
