The feminist movement has faced many battles in the past, including that of achieving women's suffrage. The feminist movement nowadays continues to fight, particularly in the area of sexual abuse and harassment. The "green" movement of the present that wants to prepare for the threat of climate change is similar in many ways to the Native American movements of the past that focused on protecting the environment.
