In paragraph 14, King refers to his "cup of endurance". What is this a reference to? How is the original phrase worded?

    In the original phrase David says "You prepared a table for me in the presence of my enemies: you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows" 23rd Psalm, verse 5.

    It is speaking about God's blessings. The cup is the amount of blessing and provisions that God gives each man and woman.
