In what way is the setting of The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde typical of gothic fiction?

    The setting of the strange case of Dr. J. and Mr. H is dark and mysterious, in most gothic fiction the "bad" character is shrouded in darkness and found in things we thing of as gross, like cold, sticky environments. For the most part the book follows this idea.
