    The markdown is 35% so that's what is taken off the original price. First find 35% of the original.

    35% as a decimal is 0.35 this is multiplied by 3.29 to get 1.15 when rounding to the nearest cent. You then subtract 1.15 from 3.29 to 2.14.

    $2.14 is the sale price.
