The purpose of Mandela'a speech was not just addressing the nation as their new president and give the gratitude for those that put him in there but instead he wanted to create a statement in which South Africa was going to make changes. He implied that these immense changes were going to show the world that the nation was truly going to become a land of justice, hope, freedom and equality for all.
