He was accused of witchcraft along with his wife during the witch trials. He was a farmer and a full member of the church. He believed that his wife Martha was not a witch and protested against the town that they were wrong. Back then they did not like to be stood up against, so they accused him of witchery instead of listening to him beg his wife's innocence
