Why does tasha the narrator in the tail think that her summer is ruined

Tasha, the narrator in "The Tail", think that her summer is ruined because she is tasked to look after her little brother, Junior. She was not happy about it because she is not free do the things and activities she wanted to do during that summer. Instead, she will spend her summer playing babysitter.
