Jonathan Swift's 'A modest Proposal' is a satire and here it is satirical about religious fanaticism.

    Explanation:

The satire of Jonathan Swift in this book famously uses the insistence that the readers must eat children and then he presents it as a modest proposal.

Using this backdrop he satirizes many parts of the society.

In his time, the country had become Protestant and was persecuting Catholics for their faith. Many Catholics had now run away to the new world because f this persecution too.

The satire is urging the people to eat catholic babies so as to lessen their numbers. The ridiculousness of the proposal is the satire.
