The cat gives an example of a problem we all must face: finding our own way out of our home.

Explanation:

In this poem we can see a person calling his cat to come home.

When the cat hears his words, he lifts his ears and looking in the direction of the house, and then towards the stars, he has to make a decision: go back or take his own path.

As we know cats are independent beings, which also makes it part of the symbolism that the author has chosen for this poem.

We all have to face this problem sometime: taking our own paths, away from home and away from our parents.
