Find examples of figurative language in the outsiders book. Identify the technique being used and explain why you think the author chose this technique/what does it do for readers

    I can’t exactly answer this since I do not have the text. However, figurative language is saying something that is not literal. Most common type of figurative language is metaphors or similes.

    simile ex: "She’s as happy as a clam."

    similes always have the words "like" or "as" in them

    metaphor ex: "This room is an ice cube!"

    hence the not so literal meaning
