The weaknesses that made Hicks a bad subject are:
Hicks was born honest and calm. He tells what he saw; what he saw is what he saw and reported honestly. Hicks got no imagination at all. For Twain, he is an unworthy hero. He seemed to dislike Hicks saying he was not a worthy hero.
