The bolded adverb that is sued to describe an adjective is Very in the sentence "Gia ran very quickly to get to the bus on time." The adjective in the sentence is quickly and the adverb is very. Therefore the "very" describes how "quickly" Gia ran. In the other sentences, the adverbs only describe the verb as there are no adjectives for it to modify.
