In "Transformation Peace" the rifle and the flower stand for?

    The flower was a symbol of peace and the rifle was a symbol for war. Placing the flower in the barrel of the gun was a representation of peace over. This poem was written as part of an anti-war movement. I think it was the Vietnam War were protesters placed flowers on the guns of national guardsmen.
