Thesis statements consist of a question, which should be answered at the end of your essay and a statement. If you enjoyed the book, say something in that nature. If you found something interesting about the author and/or the book, write something about that. Just be sure to ask a question, for example: "The great Gatsby was a very symbolic book, but what can we learn from the author?"
