You can make lifestyle changes known to reduce your risk without genetic testing.

    Explanation:

If my friend were prone to heart disease, she could already be making changes in her lifestyle, such as eating healthily, exercising and finding beneficial ways to reduce stress. Genetic testing could make her aware of several heart diseases; however, if the person is under risk, it is more appropriate to take action and begin a lifestyle change as soon as possible rather than wait for a medical test.
