Answer: Dunbar's poem examines African Americans' place in society: Crane's poem examines humankind's place in the universe

    Explanation:

"We Wear the Mask" by Paul Laurence Dunbar is a poem dedicated to the suffering of black Americans in the society who are constantly in pain at their treatment of the world yet still wear a proverbial mask to hide it all from the world so that the world does not see it.

Stephen Crane's "A Man Said to the Universe" in an almost nihilistic way deals with how the Universe feels no obligation towards human kind which serves to belittle our place in the Universe.

The theme places great importance on human efforts geared towards impacting the World

    Explanation:

However, Dunbar's poem focuses more on the African American Contribution to their society and their rightful place.

And For Crane's poem, Its focus is mainly on all human kinds and their place in this world. The poem is more of general and talks about all human race but Dunbar's poem is specific and talks about the African American.
