Midas and Xochiquetzal are similar in their connection to greed. According to Greek mythology, Midas is the king whose touch turned everything to gold. According to Aztec mythology, Xochiquetzal (which means "maiden") is linked to luxury materials and human desire. Although these figures come from different cultures, they share a symbolism of excess.
