When the Earth moves through outer space, how do the movements create daytime and nighttime, and the four seasons?

    When the earth is farthest away from the sun we have winter.

    The planet turns on it's axis (causes daytime and nighttime), and while that happens, the Earth circles the Sun and this causes our year.
