A heat dome is when due to various circumstances in the nature, a dome like piece of air forms above a piece of land. The air from the top sinks to the bottom and becomes compressed and this causes the heat to be created and it is trapped in the dome which can lead to very increased temperatures that can be dangerous and cause things like sunstrikes and similar.
