    The correct answer is - the location of the Nile River.

    The Nile River was and still is the only river in Egypt. This river was the main reason that enabled the development of civilization in this part of the world. The river provided drinking water, irrigation water, it was flooding and leaving very fertile deposits which made the agriculture flourish, it was used for travel and transportation of goods.

    Because of all these reasons, the cities and towns in Ancient Egypt were built in close proximity to the river, as only in that way they were able to survive and prosper. On the maps it is easy to sea that all towns and cities are arranges in a linear manner according to the flow of the Nile River.
