What is a compare and contrast for epicenter and shadow zone

    The focus of an earthquake is right below the epicenter and the shadow zone is the part of earth not affected by the seismic waves that are caused by the earthquake.

    compare; both have to do with earthquakes

    contrast; one is up close to the earthquake one is far away. (figuratively speaking)
