    1. The Hawaian Islands represent a hot-spot track that c. Shows that the Pacific Plate is moving Northwest

    2. Loose, water-saturated sediments may undergo a. Liquefaction during an earthquake

    Explanation:

    1. Presently pacific plate is moving in northwest direction relative to hawaian hot spot. 43 million years ago the same plate was moving in north direction but due to change or shift in Euler pole of the pacific plate it changed its path to northwest from north. this can be observed from the chains of island formed by the hot spot on the pacific plate.

    2. Liquefaction

Shaking of earth surface due to release of energy during earthquake affects strength and stiffness of the soil particles and also due to presence of moisture in the soil, it behaves like a liquid which could cause damage from smaller scale to a larger scale like landslide.
