When lava flow cools as it moves away from the vent, it formes solid rocks with different structures, creating new types of rocks.

    Explanation:

Lava is molten rocks that comes out of volcanoes. When the lava cools out it forms solid rocks.

But before cooling, lava flows a long way. Gradually the new rocks build up a cone.

If lava freezes, it forms crystals. If rocks freezes quickly, the crystals do no t have time to grow very big. As a reasult, tiny crystals are formed, and gives origin to rocks like basalt.

But, if magma is trapped underground, it takes much time to cool and grow bigger crystals, so it can formed other rocks such as granite.
