Deforestation is a really important issue. Removing trees means less oxygen and destroying the habitats of many animals.
In mountain regions, disturbing or removing the vegetation causes the soil to erode and this can cause landslides. The dirt can also make its way into nearby rivers and pollute them. Some rivers travel all the way to the ocean, and coral reefs can be polluted by the dirt.
