If you weighed 150 lb on Earth, what would you weigh on Mars? For reference, Mars has a mass that is 0.1 times Earth's mass and Mars has a radius that is 0.5 times Earth's radius.

    Explanation:

    Newton gravitation Force, F = G ((Mm) / r²)

    G = gravitational Constant (6.674*10-11 Nm² / Kg²)

    Since mass is constant.

    F=mg

    so applying F=mg into the newton gravitational force equation;

    Surface gravity, g=GM/r²

    where M is the planet's mass; Earth mass = 5.972*10²⁴

    r is the planet's radius; Earth radius = 6.371*10⁶m

    So g on mars = 6.674*10⁻¹¹ * 0.1*5.972*10²⁴ / (0.5*6.371*10⁶) ²

    g on mars = 3.986*10¹³/1.0147*10¹³ = 3.928

    Therefore weight on mars = weight on earth * g on mars

    weight on mars = 150*3.928 = 589.2lb
