Shallow earthquakes are also common along transform faults, such as the San Andrea Fault. While the heavy earthquakes are found along the inter plate zones.

    Explanation:

The worldwide distribution of the earthquakes across the globe is relatively shown by the position of the plates and the various boundaries on earth's surface such as the divergent and convergent and transform faults etc. Earthquakes are common in areas of the ridges and the zones of subduction of plates. Due to the build-up of the stress these earthquakes are formed from the continental rifting and like those of the great rift valley o the Africa and lake regions of China and Russia. Some earthquakes are found along the spreading segments of ridges where the temperatures of the rock are relatively high. Earthquakes of Magnitude of 8 or 9 are those found at the great rapture zones and occur at the depth of 400 km, were larger subduction takes place.
