The Apollo mission considered a success on July 24 in 1969.

    Explanation:

Apollo Program, considered as 3rd Human Spaceflight operated by NASA launched their first flight 1961. The program's main purpose was to achieve crewed lunar launching, and bringing humans back to earth safely.

Several missions were carried out between 1960 and 1970, however many obstacles were faced with each of those mission such as restrictions in the budget and lag in the hardware.

The two most well-known failures happened in 1967 with Apollo 1 and in 1970 with Apollo 13. The program suffered a major loss when a fire occurred in the cabin during one of the preparation tests, killing the entire crew, while Apollo 13 was stopped due to an explosion of an oxygen tank.

NASA finally celebrated the success of this program in 1969, with the landing of Apollo 11 on the moon, making Neil Armstrong by that the first person to step foot on another planet.
