Collenchyma tissue is found in a specific part of the plant like the outer layer of the cells in young stem and leaf veins. Since plants do not have bones like humans, therefore, they provide mechanical support and elasticity of the plant. The shape of the cells is elongated with the irregular cell wall. Their thick cell walls are composed of the compound cellulose and pectin.
